Asheville NC Summer Vacation
One Tank Destinations
Asheville NC Summer Vacation the perfect one tank destinations! Asheville, North Carolina is right up the road for those of us in North Georgia and Atlanta area. It’s a One Tank Destination! We’re talking about those where you pack the car with family and gear, head out to some place close but far enough away that it feels like a getaway. As we’re getting back out traveling Asheville should be high on your list. Things are trending in Asheville. The culinary scene is a huge attractions for visitors. With several chefs who are James Beard nominees and award winners. Wine tasting, hiking, zip lining and checking out waterfalls, there is something for everyone. Having the most up to date information is more important than ever. “No disappointment allowed” should be the mantra for summer vacation 2021; and we can do that with proper planning, confirming and setting realistic expectations. My guests this week bring up-to-date info and sharing the wonderful world of Bed and Breakfast accommodations.
With fuel and gas costs going up and up, controlling the transportation fees and costs is vital to staying within a reasonable budget. Close trips help with doing just that – there and back on one tank of gas. My guests help with planning what to do, see, and where to stay.
Rick Bell, with his partner Tom, are owners and host of Engadine Inn and Cabins. Rick is also president of Asheville Bed and Breakfast Association. Rick shares things to do in and around Asheville and invites you to come to his historic home for a BnB stay.

Wake Foot Sanctuary is pure relaxation. The perfect place to have a rejuvenating experience for your feet that satisfies you totally. Owner, Melissa Long shares what you will experience and how you can come solo or with your friends for a special occasion or after a day long tour of Asheville.

Photos from my fabulous visit to Asheville

Authentic homemade Mexican cuisine at Mamacita’s

Shrimp Tacos and a ice-cold Margarita, delicious! Mamacita’s homemade cuisine.

Coming soon to Asheville, an Atlanta favorite Holeman and Finch burgers. When in Asheville check out H&F Burger for one of the best burgers & fries you’ll ever have.

Windows to the world at Wildberry Lodge

The 32ft. fireplace that gives the room a prominent presence in the home. And it’s where you can experience those wonderful crackling fires in the fall and winter.

Taking it all in one last time on the deck.

Engadine’s lovely entrance

This historic home has many stories to tell. And, one is that of a winery.

A breathtaking stairway with stain glass greets you when you arrive and each morning as you come down for breakfast.

Beautiful copper ware graces the fireplace.

My beautiful room. Very comfortable and many antique touches.

Relax upstairs with evening refreshments and morning coffee.

Delicious breakfast prepared by Rick and Tom. A very tasty signature maple and pecan bacon and fluffy waffles.

Rick and I had an early morning spot on the WDUN morning show. Afterwards we spent most of the morning in the kitchen eating, talking, laughing and developing a new friendship. I couldn’t keep my eyes off the beautiful and artistic birdhouses they purchased in Atlanta.

The first course of our delicious breakfast, baked apples with granola, berries, cream and powdered sugar. And, delicious coffee prepare by Tom.

If you’d love to wake up to a view of the mountains, choose a cabin at Engadine Inn and Cabins.

Take home a few goodies from Engadine’s selection of treats.

I say, “if your feet are happy, everything else will be alright!” A visit to Wake Foot Sanctuary relaxes and fills the soul. It is a must when visiting Asheville.

You choose your soak ingredient which includes salts, fragrance and oil. I chose the Salty Beach Rose. Wonderful for your feet.

Take a few products home from the Wake collection. This soothing eye mask would be a great gift for you and someone waiting at home for your return.

Take home your foot soak and share the experience with someone special.
