What’s In Your Carry On

DSC_0230Annita’s Carry On Bag

Right now my favorite “personal item” carry on bag is an oversized canvas bag, easy to fold and pack, and large enough to over stuff with a ton of items.  With an outsize pocket, sturdy handles and a lot of style, this bag will be my favorite for many trips!  Plus, it’s a Pan Am Brands bag, so what’s not to like?

I like to pack:

  • A light sweater or scarf for a chilly flight
  • Entertainment for the flight – book, iPad, music
  • Camera with extra battery
  • A bloggie (by Sony.. great for capturing quick videos. It’s a bit old school, but quick to pull out and use.)
  • Ear plugs and eye shades
  • Sunglasses
  • Charger for my electronic items
  • Converter – for international trips
  • Medicines in their original containers

Don’t forget to pack them.         DSC_0203Like to journal your trip for later blogging or for just sharing your experiences with family and friends…. Look for a lightweight journal with a pen or pencil. Write away! You’ll want to note memories and feelings that your camera just can’t capture.         IMG_0476Remember the converters and adapters when traveling to an international destination. Many hotels have converters but may charge a fee for using them. This small compact kit easily fits in my carry on. (By Flight 001)         DSC_0187While planning which suit to pack, also gather your chargers. Don’t forget your camera battery charger too!         DSC_0221 On long flights, I pack my clear plastic bag with moisturizer and lotion where I can easily reach it during those dry flights.  This really helps keep skin from becoming so dry.         IMG_1969I keep all of my travel documents in my purse. My passport is easily available and so are any tickets, confirmations and itinerary.  I have a copy of all travel documents (including passport too) that I keep in my carry-on bag. If you prefer to have travel documents in your carry-on bag that works fine too – it’s really more personal preference. Either way, do not pack them in checked bags. You want them safe by your side.       DSC_0226If you travel with camera gear, you already know this. Your camera bag should be your carry-on.  Purchase a bag large enough for camera gear, and other personal items. Camera equipment should be kept close by. And, you may find inspiration for a lovely photo while traveling.
