Travel with friends! What a great topic! And there is more to it than deciding on where to go and when. Over the next three months I will dig deep into all the various aspects of traveling with your friends. We start with creating a budget and planning.

On our last show we started the series with budgets and planning; the exact steps you would take when traveling with friends. Know your budget and ensure everyone is onboard with the same idea of the travel budget. Leslie Royal, a consumer journalist and budgeting expert, shared great tips for making a budget that will be easy to manage. And, Karen Elliott, shared her best practices for traveling with friends; she has been traveling for 30 years with the same friends on an annual trip. She knows what works and what needs a little tweaking! If you’d like to hear the first of the series – here’s the link:

This week is all about knowing how to act with your friends. It’s really a review of all those things your grandmother taught you. Those things we know we should do, but sometimes we are moving so fast to get what we want and forget about making sure we consider the other person’s feelings, thoughts and expectations. When that happens, there is usually some conflict. On the show we will share what’s good conflict (yes, there is some good conflict) and what needs a more focus and attention to resolve. We cover it all from start to finish.

Travel with FriendsMyka Meier owner of Beaumont Etiquette is our guest on Saturday and she will lead us through a discussion about good manners and the importance of respecting others. She has been referred to as America’s Queen of Good Manners by the Times of London Magazine. She is a dual American and British citizen, specializing in international business etiquette and protocol. She studied at multiple traditional etiquette schools in the United Kingdom and trained in London under a former member of The Royal Household of Her Majesty the Queen. Myka offers a fresh and modern perspective to the industry. Breaking down the stereotype that etiquette is perceived as outdated. She provides an excellent guideline for our series showing us good manners are most important.

Travel with FriendsDr. Melanie Gallo is known as the Dr. 4 Business; the perfect name for a business and leadership coach, and consultant who guides her clients with problem solving skills to resolve and settle disputes by understanding what causes conflict. Dr. Gallo takes us through understanding the root of conflict and how understanding and knowing what causes conflict, actually helps us resolve smaller issues before they become larger issues. On our show she will share solutions to specific issues which can easily cause disputes when traveling with a group.
