As extreme wether and overcrowding during peak seasons become more common, many travelers are opting for trips in the spring and fall, which is known as shoulder season.  The time before and after the busy travel time. No only are crowds less, but travel in general is less and more affordable during this season. Lower temperatures is another great reason should season is on the travel trends for 2025.

Rather than choosing the destination first, more travelers are selecting locations based on the activities they love or would like to get more involved in. Activities which align with their person passions, interest and goals – such as wildlife viewing, sports activities, once-in-a-lifetime experiences like solar eclipse, seeing the northern lights, are all part of the travel with a purpose.  Additionally, travelers are also interested in seeking destinations to meet their desire to contribute to causes they find dear to their hearts. Volunteering, building homes, and creating a better life for those in parts of the world who are less fortunate.

Gone are the days where top of the list are the big cities in states or countries we have always wanted to visit. Travel trends for 2025 shows travelers wanting to land in the big cities but head out to the smaller towns, villages and countryside to getaway from it all.  Finding historic sites, exploring little known places and enjoying the feeling of having freedom from the fast-pace of big cities is driving this item on the travel trends for 2025.

“I’m heading off to leave your wallet behind” is becoming more of the reality than just a catch phrase.  Travelers are looking for the one place to have it all – no more pulling out the wallet for every little or big thing during the vacation. Pay once and get it all; relax and enjoy your time without worrying about costs and a tab running up. This one is on the travel trends for 2025 list and growing. Actually, it’s not new to any trends list. This one has been growing for a while.

Many travelers are now planning longer tiers, often combining multiple destination to deepen their experiences.  This trend reflects a desire to make the most of travel opportunities after the disruption caused by the pandemic.  Many travelers realized once they’re out on a trip to make the. most of it. If you’re in Europe, why not visit all the places on your list on one trip, instead hoping to plan another trip in the next year or two.

Visiting movie and TV setting has always been a thing. However, with so many outlets today to choose from – your cable company, plus streaming, there is so much more to draw our attention to destinations featured on TV shows.  Travelers want to walk in those same places and touch the sets. No longer are we satisfied with just watching on the TV or movie screen, let’s go and get on the set too. There’s a connection with the people with see on the screen too. It’s that “I’ve been there” feeling when you see if on the screen after visiting.

Road trips are. not going away. They are still the best way to gather the family and see multiple destinations or economically visit your favorite spots.  With airfare on the rise, families can have several vacations when they choose the road trip version of having a good time.
