Atlanta Things To See and Do

Atlanta Things to see and do

Atlanta- so many things to see and do – it’s my hometown, and I enjoy sharing it with everyone. I love my southern roots and am happy to call this area home.

I was born in Atlanta and lived there during my early childhood in the SW area of the city. I can still remember going there as a child and swimming in the pool at Mozley Park with my parents watching as my sister, and I played with the other kids. Today Mozley park looks different from my time swimming and running along the paths. But my fond memories keep it alive. It’s a city that welcomes visitors from all around the world. Discover Atlanta – the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau reported in 2019 that 57 million visitors came to Atlanta spending over 16 million in the city’s hospitality industry.

Atlanta is a drive destination for nearby cities and states. That makes it a leisurely road trip to the attractions and events that make our city a lively place to visit.

National Geographic has Atlanta listed for culture and history on their Best of the World list. And there is no denying that. Especially history. From the Civil War to civil rights, Atlanta has a history. And Lonely Planet named Atlanta number 4 for best in travel in 2022.

I recently toured the city with CityPASS and the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau – Discover Atlanta. CityPASS offers a chance to see some of the city’s attractions at a discounted rate by purchasing them together. CityPASS ticket saves 44% off combined admission to five top attractions:

Georgia Aquarium

World of Coca-Cola

Zoo Atlanta

plus a choice of two from either Fernbank Museumthe College Football Hall of Fame, or the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
