Destination:  Dubai Wonderland on the Gulf
June 1, 2013 on WDUN AM 550   2-3pm

Dubai the glistening city in the sand!  Luxury hotels, shopping, adventure and fascinating architecture.  Dubai does not disappoint.  It is a city with open doors and welcomes a diverse group of travelers each year as well as new residents.

Dubai is truly a unique tourist spot that is both a destination and a stop-over enroute to other locations.  Dubai offers more attractions, shopping, fine dining and luxury hotels than most top tourist destinations. From the timeless tranquillity of the desert to the lively bustle of the souk, Dubai offers a kaleidoscope of attractions for visitors.   With old Dubai and the new Dubai standing hand-in-hand, the city is a kaleidoscope of modern vs. traditional, old vs. new, ultra luxury vs. affordable, relaxing vs. adventurous … there is something for everyone in Dubai.

And, if shopping and adventure is not on your everyday list; Dubai’s history is sure to capture your interest and mesmerize your desire to know more and more about a fascinating city that has grown to such heights in such a short time.

What else can you do as a tourist?  Well the list is long, but here are a few choices: beautiful beaches, well manicured green parks, ancient and historic homes, the tallest building in the world, a man-made island in the shape of a palm tree, camel rides in the desert and if you heart can withstand the excitement, a exhilarating ride up and down the sand dunes is sure to be a life long memory.

Make sure and join Travel Bags With Annita on Saturday, June 1 for a very engaging and informative conversation with cultural expert Nasif Kayed.  He will be our guest and will share the answers to so many questions you may have about not only the UAE (United Arab Emirates), but about the culture and history of a region, a people and their land; and how they all fit together to make UAE and Dubai so fascinating!

Nasif Kayed is General Manager of Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding located in Dubai.  Nasif is a semi-retired business man, who in the early eighties travelled to the US and made it his home.  As an entrepreneur he established more than 40 companies in US and Canada.
