Fireworks, parades and picnics – nothing spells celebration on the 4th of July like that trio of events.  Have you made your plans for this year. The holiday falls on a Saturday and most people have Friday off! So let’s get started early and celebrate late into the weekend.

Here’s our list of things to do in Georgia!

If you’re looking for fireworks to light up the sky you’re in luck. Or maybe you and the family would love to rock to the beat of great music.  And, parades are a tradition of the red, white and blue holiday – so we have those too.  There are lots of locations around the area to be wowed and awed!

Holiday Floor Gorge Hike
July 3rd : Tallulah Gorge State Park, Tallulah Falls
July 3 – July 6, 10:30 a.m.
Hike the high-skill level trail down 531 stairs, a river crossing jumping from rock to rock and climbing boulders along the side of the river to Bridal Veil Falls where you can swim.
No pets.
Bring food and water.
Children 10 or older only. Limited space.
Cost:  $5 per person and $5 parking.

An annual tradition in downtown Demorest.
Crafts, horseshoes, cake walk, music, art, a 5K run, antique car show, kids’ games and many food vendors all create 4th of July fun.
This is the longest-running patriotic celebration in Georgia’s history.
5K Run begins at 8 a.m. at Demorest Police Department.
Celebration starts inDemorest Springs Park at 10 a.m. and continues until after the 9:30 p.m.

A delight for young and old. Anyone with a boat is welcome to line up at the marina beginning at 11:00am.
At 11:30 boats will pass in review.
There is no charge and boats can be decorated in any theme.
