Travel north on the trail of many African Americans who sought freedom in the city of brotherly love.  The history, culture and iconic heroes who passed through Philadelphia either briefly or making it home after escaping slavery leave stories of courage, determination and perseverance.

With a visit to the city and conversation with several historians, we want to share the untold and familiar stories of Philadelphia and why it was the hope for so many people.
