Culture, Heritage, finding your Ancestry

What a great topic! And there is more to it than deciding on where to go and when. Over the next three months I will dig deep into all the various aspects of traveling with your friends. We have shared great tips on creating a budget and planning, having good travel manners and handling any disputes which may pop up when traveling with friends.

On our last show we talked about good manners with Myka Meier and how you can ensure you are “in order” when traveling with your bestie. After all, we want to make sure your getaway stays friendly. And, Dr. Melanie Gallo provided tips and techniques for handling disputes that will pop up – both constructive disputes and those which need to be nipped right away.

This week we shift our focus to culture and heritage; a very good reason to travel. But also a topic where the support and love of friends and family can make it easier to explore new places which may hold emotions and complex histories.

Culture, Heritage, finding your AncestryWe start part three of the Traveling with Friends series talking with Antimo Cimino about culture and defining the exact meaning of the word that is tossed around referring to everything from food to music to art. Antimo is the co-owner of VoomaGo, an experiential travel company providing opportunities for travelers to meet and explore communities with the tour guides who live there. He is also on staff with the Intercultural Communication Institute, where intercultural communication workshops and programs offer opportunities to learn and explore deeper meanings of intercultural communication.

Jhulianna Cintron is with 23AndMe where you can explore your ancestry and learn much more about your heritage. We want to know how people use this information about themselves to travel and connect with destinations around the world. 23AndMe is the perfect way to not only learn more about your heritage but go, explore, experience and connect.
