As such, Travel Bags with Annita Guest Contributor, Leslie E. Royal, asked six internationally renowned, luxury properties and their exceptional mixologists to share EXCLUSIVE recipes just for our readers. They kindly obliged. Resort Overview: Featuring three pools, a full-service restaurant called Rudolph’s, fabulous suites with outdoor claw foot tubs on the balconies, and a state-of-the-art fitness center, the 89-room luxury boutique hotel offers minimalist design and artistic flair.

Mixologist: Eli Jacob Clark-Kramer creates tantalizing craft cocktails with unique inspirations. Infusing everything in house, his cocktail, called The Vanity 6, is named for a girl group that Prince founded in the 80’s. The spiciness epitomizes lead singer and Prince protégé, Vanity

The Recipe  

2 oz tequila infused with grilled pineapple, jalapeño, mango and turmeric
.5 oz lime juice

.5 oz agave syrup
.5 oz ginger beer
Method: Peel one ripe pineapple, then slice into medium pieces. Caramelize the pineapple by grilling each side until lightly charred and golden brown, but make sure not to burn them. While the pineapple cools, thinly slice two fresh, spicy jalapeños. Peel three medium size roots of turmeric with the back of a spoon or a dull knife. Fresh turmeric can be substituted for 1 tablespoon turmeric powder. Cut one large mango into cubes. Blend the pineapple, turmeric and mango. add the jalapeño and divide into two large gallon  plastic ziplock bags. Pour a half  for the infusion to cool, and then strain the tequila out. Shake 2 oz of the infused tequila with .5 oz fresh lime juice and .5 oz agave syrup. Add .5 oz spicy ginger beer and strain over fresh ice, top with dehydrated lime and jalapeño garnish.

The Recipe 

1.5 oz Sunshine Shot (3 parts Ginger, 2 Parts Turmeric, 1 Part Lemon Juice)

3/4 oz Kukui’ula Honey Syrup (equal parts Water and House-Farmed Honey)

2 Farm Sage Leaves

1.5 oz Uncle Vals Botanical Gin

A tiny pinch of House smoked Hawaiian Chili Pepper Powder

Method: Build in a shaker. Shake and strain into coupe glass. Garnish with Floating Borage Flower.

The signature restaurant, Azurea, serves fine wine  and has a great seasonal menu with eclectic coastal cuisine. 

Mixologist: Danny Welsh has honed his craft and passion over the last 3 ½ years. He specializes in  creating craft cocktails using fresh, seasonal and indigenous ingredients while utilizing his favored premium spirits and liqueurs such as bourbon, rum, and gin. 

The Recipe

1.5 ox Casa Noble Crystal Tequila
.5 oz Fresh Lime Juice

.5 oz House Made Cinnamon Syrup
2 ox Blood Orange San Pellegrino

Method: Combine tequila, lime juice, and cinnamon simple syrup  in a mixing glass with ice, shake and strain over fresh ice; Top with Blood Orange San Pellegrino; Garnish with toasted cinnamon stick and dehydrated blood orange wheel.

.5 oz Inner Peace Flower Elixir

.75 oz Lemon Juice

Method: Shake and strain into a Collins glass. Garnish with a lemon slice.

The Recipe

1 ounce of Captain Morgan Rum

0.5 ounce of Blue Curacao Liquor

0.3 ounce of Amaretto

0.5 ounce of Triple Sec

1 ounce of Pineapple squash

1 ounce of Lime juice

1 tablespoon of Sugar

Ice cubs

Method: Blend all the ingredients in a blender until smooth and frozen.

Recipe 

2 Oz. Mezcal

2 Oz. Cranberry juice

2 Oz. Sprite

1/4 cup of blueberries

2 slices of green lime

4 Mint leaves

6 cubes of ice

1 sprint of mint for garnish

1 blackberry for garnish

Method: In a glass add the green lime, blueberries and the mint leaves. With a pestle for cocktails, macerate until the juices are released and well mixed. Add the ice cubes, the cranberry juice, the sprite, the mezcal and mix. Decorate with the blackberry and the sprint of mint. See image attached.

Founded in 2010 in Jackson, Mississippi by lifelong friends and blues fans, The Cathead Distillery is the first distillery in the state. Its inclusion of sweet grain corn for a crisp finish, having each run made in small batches, and use of advanced technology and innovation results in a smooth, sweet and velvety finish to its vodkas. Guest Contributor, Leslie E. Royal, asked the folks at Cathead Distillery to share one of their preferred recipes with the Travel Bags with Annita audience. The Recipe

1.5 oz Cathead Honeysuckle Vodka 

.5 oz fresh lemon juice 

.25 oz Yellow Chartreuse 

.25 oz simple syrup (1:1) 

2 dashes Bittermans hopped grapefruit bitters

Method: Combine all, add ice and shake until chilled, serve in a coupe garnished with a cucumber wheel.
