It’s a Gatlinburg Holiday Season! The holiday season means finding the place to celebrate with family and friends. And it’s not always at home. A trip to a festive location is the perfect way to get everyone in the holiday spirit. Take a trip to Gatlinburg this winter for an experience in the Gatlinburg Winterfest, filled with holiday magic and enough activities to suit everyone and create memories for the whole family. You can pack your calendar with events that include fun for all ages.
The city of Gatlinburg has a very family-friendly feel and warm hospitality. Marci Claude, Public Relations Manager for the Gatlinburg Convention and Visitors Bureau, had this to say, “Gatlinburg has a magical charm about it, and it creates the perfect atmosphere to celebrate holiday cheer with the entire family. This holiday season, we are excited to bring back our life-size Snowpeople and host several events for our annual Gatlinburg Winter Magic celebration. Gatlinburg will come together to celebrate several of our annual events that create treasurable traditions that last through generations.”
Let’s take a look at some of the activities planned for the Gatlinburg Winterfest, which takes place throughout the winter from November until February.

  • Festival of Trees: November 27-December 1, 2019
    Enjoy and explore dozens of ornately decorated Christmas trees in a winter wonderland at the Gatlinburg Hilton Garden Inn. Do you need a little inspiration for your tree? This event will give you precisely what you are looking for during the season. The event benefits the Boys and Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains.
  • Winter Magic Tunes and Tales: November 29-December 22, 2019; Friday and Saturday evenings
    Oh, the sounds of holiday music when it fills the air. In Gatlinburg, you are in for a treat with a mixture of Appalachia, Bluegrass, and Country, everything you need for a Tennessee Christmas! Visitors are invited to meet characters and storytellers, visit with Santa’s elves and enjoy caroling on the Parkway Friday and Saturday evenings of the holiday season.

  • 44th Annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade: December 6, 2019, at 7:30 p.m.
    Everyone loves a grand parade. It’s all about the dashing, glittery, and exciting spirit of the holiday season. The annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade is getting ready to celebrate the 44th anniversary of the parade. And, who better to be the Grand Marshal than Alyvia Alyn Lind, the actress portraying a young Dolly

    Parton in the 2015 movie “Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors.” Named as a Top Holiday Parade, the 44th Annual Fantasy of Lights Christmas Parade will be a spectacular celebration filled with marching bands, giant balloons, dancers, and of course, Santa Claus.
    And, if you can’t make it on December 6 to the parade, no worries. This year’s show will be celebrated nationwide, and broadcast Christmas week on local television stations in over 100 markets throughout the United States, which is 70 markets more than last year.

  • New Year’s Eve Ball Drop and Fireworks Show: December 31, 2019
    Bring in the New Year with an event named the “Best New Year’s Eve Show in the South.” Come and join the event which will take place around the intersection of Parkway and Historic Nature Trail at the base of the Space Needle late Tuesday night, December 31, and bring in the year with a blast of colorful fireworks filling the sky.Gatlinburg Holiday Season
