Navarre Beach is the beach community of Navarre, Florida, in Santa Rosa County. It is a small sleepy town with just over 42,000 people located in the northwest Florida Panhandle.
Navarre is about 25 miles east of Pensacola and about 15 miles west of Fort Walton Beach on the Gulf of Mexico. It is uncrowded, unspoiled, and there is no hurrying needed. Take your time and relax on the beach located in the Navarre Beach Marine Park. The casual atmosphere is the perfect way to have a vacation and not just a trip.
Located in the area is the Gulf Islands National Seashore, which is all about preserving the pristine natural scenery and of this beautiful area. The Gulf Islands National Shores is 160 miles of beautiful National Park and is managed by the national park service.
Not only can you enjoy the emerald waters of the gulf and swim in the crystal clear water, but there are so many outdoor activities for you to enjoy the National Park.

You can dive and go snorkeling

Biking – there are paths throughout the area

Fishing – right on the shore.  

Lots and lots of birds for the bird watcher

Walk along the shore. 

Take in the beauty of a sunrise or sunset on the beach.

Boating – get out in the water and enjoy.  

When you visit the National Park, keep in mind – no glass bottles are allowed on barrier islands. There are no trash cans on the island, so you must pick out what you pack in. Also, remember seagrass beds are actual homes and nurseries for many species of sea life. No anchoring in those areas and watch for posted closures and stay in the regions where fun is allowed.

Navarre is known for relaxing, but it is also known for many great activities and festivals.

For the Christmas holidays there are many activities.

Love a light show? How about being part of all the action at the Light Up Milton on Dec. 6th. Celebrate Christmas in historic downtown Milton from 5-9 with a parade, a snow machine, photos with Santa & Mrs. Clause, face painting, a market, and kettle corn. Later on, the 6th join in to watch the Pyrates Lighted Boat Parade, which ends with Fireworks. While you’re in town to help light the city, have fun at Sand Dollar Plaza for First Saturday, a community event that takes place each month on the first Saturday.

Grab a bite to eat at Alphy’s and shop for gifts with local vendors at the local Marketplace. Afterward, head over to the 25th Annual Christmas in the Park. On Dec. 7th from 9-5, it’s the Navarre Community Christmas parade. There will be the Navarre festival of Wreaths to kick off the celebration, and for fun, you can decorate a wreath! There will be a Merry Market with hand-crafted jewelry, books concessions, and so much more. The great news is – It’s free to the public. Of course, there is Santa and Mrs. Claus, who will arrive and be available for photos and finally make the day complete with the lighting of the tree; it’s all about Christmas.

And if you are a runner, there is a 5K Jingle Bell Run sponsored by the Navarre Beach Area Chamber Foundation. If you can’t make it for the 25th Annual Christmas in the Park on the 7th the next two weekend has the Christmas spirit heading over to the Zoo for The Christmas Zoobilee. There will be live music, performances, contests, food, artists, pictures with Santa and the Candy Cane Market trail, which means it will be filled with gifts, sights, smells, and tastes of the season. Admission includes the entire zoo plus, artificial snow and a winter-themed bounce stations; all of this creates the perfect holiday photo opt for the whole family.

Places to Eat

The Shrimp Basket on Navarre Parkway has delicious catfish and of course, shrimp. Fried catfish is a favorite, and if you want a Poboy sandwich, crab cake, oysters, you can get it there.

Juana’s Pagodas is the spot for your sweet tooth with their warm, yummy cinnamon rolls. Start with breakfast there before starting your morning on the pier.

Beach House Bar and Grille – at the Springhill Suites Navarre is the perfect spot for a delicious dinner outside on the beach sand with the sunset and a refreshing beverage.

Dewey Destin’s in Navarre lets you have dinner at a picnic table in the sand, with the sun setting in the distance. There is nothing better. And, of yes, the food is delicious; Seafood, seafood, and more seafood.

The Springhill Suites with rooms overlooking the water has the perfect balcony check out what’s going on in the water, but also at the pool and the lazy river. The rooms are comfortable, and the restaurant is the Beach House Bar and Grille.
