Melodies and rhythms are the soul of life. We all love music and enjoy listening to our favorite artist. But, have you ever thought of taking a trip to explore your passion for musical notes? There are museums around the county that focus on your favorite way to explore your musical interest.

EMP Museum in Seattle, Washington 
With interactive exhibits you will jump right into the fun. A sound lab and sound proof room allows you to express your “skillz” and allows you to try your favorite instrument.  With professional grade guitars, drums and mixing boards, you will be feeling the groove.  Also check out the original posters and concert footage.

STAX Museum of American Soul Music in Memphis, TN 
All about the legendary Stax records, where you can learn more about their days of recording well known stars like Otis Redding, Issac Hayes, and the Staple Singers.  Many famous artists laid down the tracks at Stax. They were definitely a pioneering the soul movement.  The museum also features other soul music greats like Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye.

Grammy Museum in Los  Angeles
Celebrate and feel the excitement of the Grammy Awards.  There are interactive exhibits and you can learn more about Grammy winners through the years.

Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum in Nashville, TN
Nashville – the home of country music since 1967.  If you are looking for the definitive collection and exhibit of country music history and info – it’s all there.  And walk along the Hall of Fame where country greats are honored.  You will not want to miss the great exhibits like the 1966 recording session with Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash.

American Jazz Museum in Kansas City, Missouri
Come and experience on of America’s original art forms!  Jazz history, listening stations, touch screens and interactive missing booths and visitors are jamming too.  The Jazz Masters exhibits honors legendary performers like Lous Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald.

Musical Instrument Museum – Phoenix, Arizona
With displays of over 6,000 instruments from more than 200 countries, you can definitely learn a thing or two about instruments  you are familiar with and discovers several new ones.  Also, check out video performances from each of the countries represented.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – Cleveland, Ohio
The building itself is a work of art – a glass, pyramid shaped structure on Lake Erie is a site to see.  And, it holds the world’s largest retrospectives of the Beatles.

The Allman Brothers Band Museum – Macon, Georgia

The museum building affectionally called the Big House because it was the hub of band and family life for the Allman Brother’s Band from 1970-1973.  Blue Sky was written in the living room and Ramblin’ Man was written the the kitchen.  You’ll find an extensive collection of Allman Brothers Band and Southern rock memorabilia.
