Lowell Thomas Travel Journalism Awards
Taking on the World, One City at a Time
In my early career, I joined Pan Am World Airways as a flight attendant and traveled the world on a jumbo 747 aircraft as my office. My love of travel, a keen interest in culture, and ease with meeting people made up for any possible “lost in translation” moments! I’m often asked, “What’s your favorite city?” Although Hong Kong comes to mind, I love so many places, and each trip is new and exciting.
Today, I am the on-air personality of the Lowell Thomas Award-winning travel radio show – Travel With Annita and Friends. The show has won two gold awards and one silver from the highly esteem Travel Journalism Award, named in honor of Lowell Thomas, an adventurer, author, and radio broadcaster. I also created Quarter Miles Travel, a Lowell Thomas Bronze Award-winning podcast based on the U.S. Mint Commemorative Quarters. Each episode features deeply researched information about the designs on the back or tail side of the quarter. Reach in your pocket and flip over a quarter; that’s where the adventure begins.
I can’t leave out my expert experience managing short-term rentals. They’re the trend in accommodations, and I have answers to help plan a stay and create a relaxing time with family, friends or solo.
So… come along with us! Travel With Annita and Quarter Miles Travel takes you on a fascinating journey around the world.
Buckle up – the adventure begins.
